he Music Shope, Inc. was founded in 1961 by Tom Wood when he purchased Noonan Music Co. from his former college instructor, John Noonan. Tom's son, Randy, came into the business after graduating from Illinois Wesleyan University in 1973. Anticipating his father's retirement, Randy took on another partner, Terry Houchin, in 1980. This partnership continues as the present ownership of the business.

The Music Shoppe's continues to specialize in service to music education. We now have four full-time educational representatives servicing 250 schools in Central and South Central Illinois. We represent most major band and orchestra franchises such as Bach, Selmer, yamaha, Holton, Leblanc, Roth, Pearl and Ludwig to name a few.

In addition to our expertise in band and orchestra, we excel in concert and marching percussion. We annually co-sponsor the "Bands of America" summer camp at Illinois State University. We take pride in providing an environment where the serious musician or the beginner can shop and feel comfortable. Our dedication to our customers is unending and our main goal.
