The Yamaha YBL-835 Xeno is a professional bass trombone developed in collaboration with Tomer Maschkowski of the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin. Building upon the success of previous Xeno bass trombones, the YBL-835 combines Yamaha's renowned craftsmanship with thoughtful refinements designed to enhance response, resonance, and playability.

Built around a .563-inch large bore and a one-piece 9.5-inch yellow brass bell, the YBL-835 delivers a broad, powerful sound with exceptional depth, projection, and tonal complexity. Its independent Bb/F/Gb/Db rotor system provides the flexibility and technical facility required for demanding orchestral, chamber, and solo repertoire.

A redesigned slide receiver and reduced-depth mouthpiece receiver improve responsiveness and resonance throughout the instrument. Yamaha also refined the rotary valve port design to allow greater airflow through the valve section, resulting in a powerful, free-blowing feel without sacrificing tonal focus.

The gold brass main tuning slide contributes warmth and balance to the sound, while chrome-plated nickel silver inner slide tubes and yellow brass outer slide tubes provide smooth slide action and dependable performance.
