Description:
Rolling is the way that the timpanist sustains a pitch. The objective is to play single strokes so smoothly that the individual strokes are not heard. The player creates a continuous hum.

All of the exercises are 12 bars long and are to be played 10 times in a row. There are some suggested dynamics, but the performer should vary dynamics and tempo to suit your individual needs. Be as creative as possible.
