Handcrafted in Kani, Japan, the Alvarez Yairi WY1 reflects more than 80 years of Yairi guitar building tradition paired with over five decades of collaboration between Alvarez and the Yairi workshop.

Built with a solid AA Western Red Cedar top and East Indian rosewood back and sides, this OM/Folk model delivers a warm, articulate voice with rich overtones, focused mids, and smooth trebles. The cedar top responds easily to a lighter touch while still maintaining clarity and projection, making the WY1 especially expressive for fingerstyle, light strumming, and dynamic playing styles.

The Folk/OM body shape offers a balanced and comfortable feel with excellent note separation and clarity across the frequency range.

Alvarez Yairi’s FST2 bracing system features forward shifted asymmetric tone bars designed to improve resonance, sustain, and overall tonal balance. Combined with the extended dovetail neck joint, the guitar delivers a lively and responsive feel throughout the instrument.

The one piece mahogany neck features a comfortable semi gloss finish and pairs with a rosewood fretboard for a smooth and natural playing experience.

Equipped with LR Baggs StagePro Bronze electronics, the WY1 provides a clear and natural amplified tone suitable for both live performance and studio use.
