String Repair FAQs
What is a rehair?
Over time, bow hair wears out and can become less effective or too loose. Frequency depends on how you play, but on average, a rehair every six months is recommended.
How long will my repair take?
Every repair is different, but most rehairs and bridges can be completed in a day or two. Some repairs may take longer due to unforeseen complexities or the need to order parts.
How often should I change the strings?
It depends on the player, style, and feel. If a string is damaged or broken, bring it in for a replacement. Many players change strings proactively to maintain tone and responsiveness.
Can I change aspects of my instrument?
Yes! We can tailor your setup: lower strings, move the soundpost, add/remove fine tuners, change the chinrest, and adjust pegs as needed. Reach out with any questions—we’re happy to help.
