In this master class, we will be exploring the finger picking styles of prewar country blues guitar, including Delta, Piedmont, and Texas Blues. We will dive into the powerful and driving rhythms of Delta Blues, right-hand techniques, improvisation and developing a clean tone. We will also discuss Resophonic guitars, open and alternate tunings, string gauges, finger picks and how to choose a slide. In this class, Devin will also demonstrate and breakdown classic blues licks from players such as Son House, Charley Patton, Robert Johnson, Fred McDowell and more. Even if you're not a blues picker, there’s something here for guitarists of any style or skill level.
